A Tribute to Women.

I read my friend Vivek reddy's blog - Ode to Minerva. It was a fantastic piece, aptly written to coincide with International Women's Day, and truly a literary masterpiece (It is okay to exaggerate at times!!!). I thought, even I should write something about Women. So here it goes, a compilation of quotations that embodies the quintessesntial unflagging spirit of Women. (Only the last four are original.)

Women are from Venus, but Men are just down to earth
-Anon

What a strange thing man is; and what a stranger thing woman. -Lord Byron

A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is one who hopes they are.
-Senator Chauncey Depew
Brigands demand your money or your life; women require both.
- Samuel Butler

One of the most difficult things in the world is to convince a woman that even a bargain costs money.
- Edgar Watson Howe
Despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, I have not been able to answer... the great question that has never been answered: what does a woman want?
-Sigmund Freud

A woman's mind is cleaner than a man's -- That's because she changes it more often.
-Oliver Hereford
Woman was made at the end of the week’s work, when God was tired.
-Anon
Behind every successful man is a surprised woman. -Mary Pearson

What is better than wisdom? Woman. And what is better than a good woman? Nothing.
-Geoffrey Chuacer, The Canterbury Tales
Women have a wonderful instinct about things. They can discover everything except the obvious.
-Oscar Wilde

Men are born, Women are to be borne!
It is said that the Army prepares you for the harsh realities in life.
Men who can’t join the army, get married!

All good things must come to an end. Maybe that’s why God made man, and then woman!
Days have been conceived not for commemoration or felicitation but, to remember the forgotten – for instance Valentine’s Day, Friendship Day, and I forgot the main one “International Women’s Day”!

@rajesh: I always knew you were a bit dense, but this time you amazed me!!!
It is okay, I guess MDI-Gurgaon does this to people!
Maybe what I should do next time is write an article with dollops of jargon, and content that is totally irrelevant and incomprehensible. Maybe then you'll understand it! (Just kidding...)

Nice nice.... You are off to a good start.

Dont think you would too many female comments here..but what the hell, it made sense to me.

We can pretend that Mr. Rajesh, who in all probability, is on the verge of making a proposition, is clueless.

And from gynophile (just to coin a new word), to another: "Marriage is not a word, its a sentence"

No man can ever understand a woman,adi...Forget man, even God can't!!!I wouldn't blame you for this one-you only reaffirmed that "All men think alike"...Some clarifications :-
You've written "Women have to be borne"...Remember each one of us is "borne" by one too :-))...
All that a woman wants is Love & respect but man can't even remember her(hence the need for the "Women's day"),forget love & respect,then...
All's well tht ends well-that's why God made man & then realizing the blunder, made Woman...

adi man you truly are a feminist to the core. thanks for going so easy on the other halves of men. christ what an effort to find so many words to describe women. Man you have gained new respect in my eyes with your insightful (though plagiarised) thoughts.
By the way international MEN'S DAY (the day actually worth celebrating) is on September 29th.
Till then keep bloging we can always trust a GAAVAR country bumpkin like you to be politically incorrect.

DISCLAIMER : My Posting a comment on this blog does not in any way mean that i subscribe to the author's views (Atleast till i get a GF HEHEHE!!!!!!)

I wasnt wrong when i thought your next post would be after the Womens Day and related to it.
You are right in sayin Days are for the forgotten. You too required one to post this.
There are some fortunate few(women ) who dont need a Day to themselves, but then the majority requires it and that is why the International Women's Day!!!
You sure have put in lots of efforts in finding these quotes(pics also) .
Enjoyed reading it since I agree to all of them, but in a different light. :-)

@Sunil, Swapna: Completely agree with you on all counts!

@Maya: Not worth replying back to

@Anirban: Not even worth mentioning, but would just like to say - Saale dekh loonga tereko!

Hi,
Well I thought my comments should be equally filled with quotes, but then I realised that men are not worth pondering into.
Great effort, you actually took time out of your (busy) schedule to study women... :)

Btw, what do you mean by 'days have been conceived to remember the forgotten'? What sense does that make? Do you celebrate your birthday because you forget yourself? What Adi!!!

Hey, and Maya, that was good!!! 'God made man and realising the blunder, He made women'.

hey good one...but if you make your views public, the unfortunate few who might get hooked up with u too might dissappear.

Hey adi the effort u have taken to find these quotes is really great! rather than filling up ur article with others quotes u cud have very well given ur own views on this isn't it?
ur the greatest example of men being not only insecure abt themselves but also jealous!Only men waste time in finding faults with women bcos they have no other thing to do and women have better things to do rather than waste time on these petty issues.Thereby i can say that i have wasted my time again in reading ur article as usual ,my mistake actually and from next time please try to write somethin worhtwhile!
